Walkers (and dogs) raise £750 for water rescue charity

THIRTY walkers gathered for a guided trek on Friday last week which raised £750 for Lowland Rescue Oxfordshire.

The route started in Shiplake and took in the sights of Binfield Heath, Rotherfield Greys and Henley before returning. The money raised will fund the purchase of three new life jackets for the Lowland Rescue team.

Alex Bradbury, fundraiser and event organiser, said: “I’m so grateful to everyone who took part or donated. Every pound makes a difference and this equipment will directly help keep our volunteers safe while they’re working to bring loved ones home.”

The next event will be Carols by Candlelight on Saturday, November 29 at St Peter’s & St Paul’s Church, Shiplake.

It will feature search and rescue dogs, professional dancers and live musicians in a candlelit setting. For tickets and to donate, visit www.
