COUNCILLOR J T Campion had a very unpleasant experience this week while on holiday at Bognor with his wife. He was on the sea coast on Wednesday and had taken his field glasses with him in order to have a good look at the country and to see what was going on in the Channel. Having had a good look out to sea, he turned his glasses inland and in the direction of a military air station.
This was too much for the sentries who had been watching him and they very quickly pounced upon him and took him to a fort. Evidently he was unable to prove that he was not a German spy for yesterday the police at Henley were telephoned about him and all sorts of questions were asked.
