THE Watermill in Bagnor is putting on an adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen’s tale The Little Mermaid later this month.
Written by Lara Barbier, with music and lyrics by Amie Parsons, the production tells the story of Merryn, daughter of the Sea King, who is awaiting her birthday. Living in the magical kingdom of the Seafolk, upon her birthday, she will be able to see the world above the surface for the first time.
When she sees twinkling lights and hears a captivating song, a storm strikes and she saves a young fisherman called Cadan. However, there is trouble back home and Merryn doesn’t know where to turn…
The cast includes Annabelle Aquino, Tom Babbage, Zach Burns, Lucinda Freeburn, Sophie Kamal, Rowan Macpherson, Jamie Ross and Christopher Staines.
