BENSON Choral Society’s next concert, JS Bach’s Christmas Oratorio, will take place at Dorchester Abbey on Sunday, December 6 (7.30pm).

Conducted by Thomas Neal, the singers will be joined by the orchestra Instruments of Time and Truth, in addition to soprano Julie Cooper, countertenor Jacob Werrin, tenor Toby Ward and bass Daniel Tate.

Bach’s oratorio is a baroque collection of six cantatas, covering the Birth of Jesus, the annunciation to the shepherds, the adoration of the shepherds, the naming of Jesus, the journey of the Magi and the adoration of the Magi.
