Gosford and Reed-Ryan shine as newly-formed side get off the mark

NEWLY-FORMED HENLEY HAWKS U13s lost out in their Division 2 debut in the Berkshire League, going down 30-14 to WOKINGHAM RED U13s.

The match got off to a challenging start with Wokingham taking a 5-2 lead in the first quarter. The Reds extended their lead to 13-4 at half-time.

Henley continued to battle in the third quarter, closing the gap to 22-9 but Wokingham went on to extend their lead to win by
16 goals.

Standout performances for the Hawks came from Isla Lawrence, whose attacking play was a constant threat, and Daisy Goforth, whose defensive efforts were key in keeping Henley in the game.

In their second match of the season, HENLEY HAWKS U13s ran out 33-15 winners against WINDSOR U13s.

Henley showed good cohesion and skill, building on their league debut with another confident performance.

Standout players included Goforth, whose defensive work disrupted Windsor’s attack throughout the match, and Mabel Reed-Ryan, who made a significant impact in both attack and transition play.
