SET within a new meadow created at the end of Manor Road in Goring, Manor Meadow is a development of 20 properties designed and built by Elegant Homes.
Brought forward as part of the Goring Neighbourhood Plan, the development of two-, three- and four-bedroom homes is in close proximity to the River Thames and countryside walks, while offering easy links to train and road networks.
The large detached houses with garages are a short walk from the village centre and six minutes from the railway station.
Simon and his family moved in to Manor Meadow just a few weeks ago. He says: “We came down from Birmingham where we had been for
20 years and then we were in Didcot for about two-and-a-half years.
“We used that time just to really get to know the local area and Goring was really clear to us as a standout location because of so many different elements.
“Chief among those is the wonderful countryside around and that unique combination of being close to the river but also near to the Chiltern Hills, the Ridgeway and the North Wessex Downs.
“It’s also the lovely feel that the village has. When we were passing through or visiting going on walks we’d stop by in the cafés and the shops and everyone was very friendly.
“We have friends in the village as well and they talk a lot about how sociable the place is with lots of activities going on all of the time.
“It’s still early days, but so far early impressions are incredibly positive and the children have settled in to the local primary school incredibly quickly. There are so many nice families, with everybody saying hello. The transport links get another big tick.
“John [from Elegant Homes] was brilliant at inducting us to the house, he met us in person.
“There were some tiny snags that we identified and were almost embarrassed to bring them up but he jumped on them and said ‘No, it’s got to be perfect’ and has promptly arranged for them to be fixed.” Built using Hampshire brick and clay roof tiles, each house has hand-painted kitchens and fitted bedrooms.
Every property has air-source heat pumps, underfloor heating, EV chargers and high-performance insulation.
