THE speaker at Henley Rotary Club’s next environment coffee morning will be Steve O’Connor, director of the River & Rowing Museum in Henley.

He will be talking about the museum’s forthcoming projects.

The event will be held at Jacobini in Hart Street on Saturday, April 6 at 10.30am.

Meanwhile, the club has been gathering local sponsors to be part of its Henley small business “Hall of Fame” ahead of its annual charity music night.

These stalwarts give between £50 and £100 to defray the costs of the event and allow for the maximum contribution to charities.

The music night this year is at the Christ Church Centre on May 11 and will feature Moscow Drug Club, a Bristol ensemble that plays an eclectic mix of jazz, blues, Berlin cabaret, Latin tinge and French musette.

The Hall of Fame so far includes: Jacobini Wine Gallery; Gabriel Machin; Cartridge Zone; the Rising Sun at Witheridge Hill; Atlantic Green; Laurence Menswear; the Henley Distillery; Framed by Mark; Purple Foot Wine Company; Bunker Opticians; Experience Henley; Arrowhive Movable Wall; M C Robins & Co; A B Walker funeral directors and Pilates ABC Henley.

The club is look for more small business support and also major sponsors contributing between £500 and £1,000.

The concert proceeds will go to Camp Mohawk, a day centre for children with special needs in Wargrave, Helen & Douglas House children’s hospice in Oxford and Mercy Ships, which takes free surgical aid to the coast of Africa.
