HENLEY’S junior youth club, which has about 100 members, will be forced to shut down if more adult supervisors are not found soon. Five weeks ago Mrs Caroline Birney, who runs the club, sent out 100 letters to parents asking them to give up a couple of hours a week to supervise the children. Not one reply has been received. At the moment there are only four adult supervisors at the weekly Tuesday meetings.
More one-way streets in Henley, aimed at improving traffic flow in the town, could be adopted on a trial basis next year. The proposed scheme has already received the support of the town’s Traffic Advisory Committee, and it must now get the approval of the Town Council. A public meeting will be held to discuss.
