CONSIDERABLE dissatisfaction was expressed by many householders in Henley last week upon receiving notice from their milk vendors that the price of milk had been raised from 5d to 6d per quart. Their grievance was very quickly removed, however, when a newcomer to the neighbourhood sent out circulars advertising that he was prepared to deliver milk at 5d per quart. The Henley milk vendors, having experienced loss of customers and evidently fearing further loss, then dropped their price back to 5d per quart.

2nd Lt Frank Ive, youngest son of Mr and Mrs Harry Ive, of St Andrew’s Road, Henley, was killed in action on October 7 while gallantly leading his men in a successful attack. Mr Ive was working at a bank in Reading when he realised the place of every young Englishman was in the fighting line and in February 1915, before he was 18, he enlisted in the 19th Royal Fusiliers, 2nd Public Schools Battalion.
