MORE than 600 competitors are expected to take part in this year’s Wargrave and Shiplake Regatta, with entries up by 10 per cent on 2022.
The event, which takes place today (Friday) and tomorrow, will involve 80 crews racing across the different dongola categories.
There is still time to enter the Saturday morning swim, or to ender the scratch dongola race. Registration for the scratch race is at 9am in the enclosure.
There will be food and drinks stalls, a children’s play area, beer tent and a Regatta shop, with space for gazebos and picnics.
Competitors and spectators are encouraged to walk or cycle to the event in Lower Shiplake, although parking is available.
A ferry will run all day from the Wargrave side of the river by the George and Dragon pub.
