THE fireworks display at the Wargrave and Shiplake Regatta will go ahead after all.

The committee for the annual event, which takes place next Friday and Saturday, has secured almost £3,000 to ensure the display takes place after it made calls for urgent funding.

Organisers had struggled to fund the event due to increased running costs.

The display, which has taken place for more than 110 years, will be held on the Saturday of the regatta at 10pm.
