FORMER Henley resident Nigel Orme took silver at the World Powerlifting Congress European Championships held in Stoke-on-Trent last weekend.

Representing Great Britain, Orme lifted a personal best 165kg deadlift to secure his medal. France secured gold.

Overall the GB team picked up the award for gaining the most medals at the competition.
