Cutting back

A CHARVIL councillor cleared overgrown vegetation at a crossing in the village to improve safety for cyclists and walkers.

Katrin Harding, who is also a Wokingham borough councillor, cleared the space at the A4 crossing in Charvil to provide more space along the footpath before children returned to school for the new term.

She said: “It should help, especially for cyclists turning.

“I’ll keep working with Wokingham Borough Council officers and contractors to get better clearances on the shared use paths both sides of The Piggott school and other key routes, now bird nesting season is coming to and end.

“With resources tight, I’m happy to pitch in where I can.”
