ELLIOTT Francis Alan Peto was born on January 31, 2017 in Reading, the son of Chris and Aimee.
He was, and is, much loved and the sunshine in their lives.
Kind and loving, social, bright and active, he attended Cygnets Nursery, then Sacred Heart Primary School in Henley.
He was passionate about Lego, music, superheroes, animals and wildlife, and spent most weekends exploring Henley’s riverside, local woodlands, National Trust properties and, as often as possible, the beach.
In October 2021, Elliott was diagnosed with high risk embryonal metastatic
rhabdomyosarcoma.
After initially benefiting from treatment, he had a reoccurrence confirmed in September this year.
His story was told in the Henley Standard of November 25 and after generous funding, Elliott was able to fulfil his entire wishlist. This included meeting Andy Day from CBeebies, travelling to a beach in Lincolnshire with his cousins and having wildlife experiences at Berkshire College of Agriculture, the Living Rainforest and Beale Park.
After visiting Harry Potter World and having a number of reunions with close friends, Elliott made his Spiderman-inspired “leap of faith” with teacher Avery Penna at the Parthian Climbing Centre in Reading.
In spite of him needing escalating symptom management for pain, Elliott was determined to attend the performance by CBeebies’ Nick Cope during his stay at Helen and Douglas House Hospice.
He passed away at 11.15am the following day, December 1.
Elliott was so brave and so loved and will be so missed.
