THE rector of Watlington became overexcited when blessing the snowdrops at St Botolph’s Church in Swyncombe on Sunday.

Rev Daniel Thompson spotted a familiar face on the large crowd — former children’s TV presenter Timmy Mallett.

Rev Thompson said: “He was a real star for me. He is a real legend. I’m going to show my father-in-law when I get home.”

As Mallett used to say: “Utterly brilliant!”
