MOULSFORD is a thriving independent day and boarding prep school of 370 pupils aged three to 13 set on the banks of the River Thames in South Oxfordshire.

We aim for our pupils to receive the broadest possible education while remembering that they will learn best when happy and settled.

Our down-to-earth, family-focused approach embraces the fact that children of this age should be having fun as well as learning.

Following the successful integration of girls into the pre-prep, Moulsford is delighted that the prep school will be moving towards full co-education from September 2026, when the first cohort of girls will join year 3 and then progress through the school year on year. By 2031, the school will have girls in every year group. This transition has been carefully planned to allow plenty of time for any necessary adjustments to the curriculum, pastoral care, sports provision, facilities and infrastructure.

The Moulsford community is looking forward to having boys and girls throughout the school, working and playing together side by side and benefiting not only from the fantastic education and pastoral care that is offered at Moulsford but also from the wonderful riverside setting.

Academic foundations laid in the pre-school promote curiosity and a love of learning and the journey through Moulsford leads the pupils on to the UK’s leading senior day and boarding schools.

Wraparound care is available to all age groups with an incredible array of activities offered after school, ranging from “bikeability” and “crafty fingers” in pre-prep through to kayaking and climbing for older children.

Day, flexi and weekly boarding options are available to children in year 5 and above.

Outstanding sports coaching and inclusivity provide every child with the opportunity to try a broad range of sports to gain confidence and stretch themselves to their personal best.

Music, art, DT and drama are all taught by talented specialists using superb facilities and equipment.

IT is integrated in all aspects of the curriculum, with iPads provided to pupils in year 3 and above to assist and enhance traditional learning methods.

Moulsford operates school transport across Oxfordshire and West Berkshire. Please refer to our website for current routes with new ones regularly considered.
