Inspiring environment for pupils

THE Manor Preparatory School is an outstanding independent co-educational day school that welcomes boys and girls aged two to 11.

We have superb, purpose-built facilities and offer a happy and varied learning experience where every child has ample opportunity to try different things, find what they love and be celebrated for it.

At the Manor we encourage all our children to adopt a “have a go” attitude and to embrace different lessons, activities and experiences with an open mind, knowing that they may find a new talent or passion.

We aim to deliver a happy and memorable prep school experience and it is our job to prepare the children, not just academically but also pastorally, for the future. Our dedicated teachers, from pre-nursery to year 6, are committed to challenging, cherishing and inspiring our children throughout their time at the Manor so that when they move on we know that we have given them the best possible start.

Each year, as our years 5 and 6 pupils begin to think about their next steps, we take time to guide families on what will be the right choice of senior school for them, helping them to identify which schools are likely to be a good fit and always taking the whole child into consideration.

This year we have been delighted, once again, to see our year 6 pupils moving on to a fantastic variety of outstanding senior schools and we have also celebrated a wide variety of scholarships and awards to Abingdon School, Magdalen College School, Oxford High and Queen Anne’s, to name just a few. The start of a new school year is always a time of much excitement as we welcome children back into their new year groups, keen to embrace the challenges ahead, and we greet new pupils and help them settle into their new surroundings.

This year, we are delighted to have welcomed our new head, Rachel Hamlyn. She is an experienced senior leader and a passionate educator who brings boundless energy and a beaming smile with her. Rachel says: “I am thrilled and very honoured to have taken on the leadership of the Manor. The values of ‘challenge, cherish and inspire’ really resonate with my desire to focus on the individual in order to nurture the potential of each child.”

Whether it be through our outstanding sports provision, our focus on STEM, our excellence in the arts, our extensive programme of extra-curricular enrichment or our exceptional pastoral care, at the Manor we absolutely do nurture the potential of each and every child.

The best way for any family to truly understand the magic which takes place every day at the Manor is to come and see us. Our whole school open day will take place on Saturday, September 28. We hold regular weekday open mornings throughout the year and offer private visits at any time. Please do come and see for yourself.
