EMMER GREEN progressed to the next round of the Berks and Bucks Sunday Cup after winning 3-2 at BRACKNELL ROYALS.

The visitors took the lead inside two minutes thanks to Jordan Lovelock’s early strike. Bracknell responded well and were awarded a penalty shortly after, but Emmer Green goalkeeper James Bozarth produced a fine save to keep his side in front.

The lead was doubled in the second half when Luke Maze made it 2-0, capitalising on good pressure from Louis Eade. Bracknell pulled one back but Emmer Green quickly regained control as Pele Hagger restored the two-goal cushion at 3-1, finishing well after another relentless attacking run from Eade.

Bracknell refused to give up and struck again late on to make it 3-2.

GORING UNITED crashed out of the Oxfordshire Sam Waters Sunday Cup after going down to a 6-2 defeat at home to THE VILLAGE INN. In the Reading and District Sunday League, HENLEY EXILES went down to a 2-1 Division 5 defeat at BURGHFIELD B.

Henley started brightly without creating any clear-cut chances as they dominated the first half.

The second half started in similar fashion but it took an own goal from Burghfield B to break the deadlock and give Henley the lead.

The home side responded well to equalise soon after. Burghfield then piled on the pressure and eventually grabbed the winning goal.
