Hosts have no answer as Wargrave move four clear

WARGRAVE extended their lead at the top of the Premier Division to four points after running out 4-0 winners at FINCHAMPSTEAD last Saturday.

The visitors started brightly and scored a counterattack goal early on when Callum Brighton found Joe Wigmore who converted well.

In the second half Ben Dobson made it 2-0 before captain Stuart Moss added the third after good work from Joseph Danelian.

In the dying minutes James Payne won a penalty which was converted by Fred Kirby to end the scoring 4-0.

In Division 1, ROTHERFIELD UNITED went down to a 1-0 defeat at MARLOW UNITED.

In Reserve Division 1, HENLEY TOWN DEVELOPMENT crashed to a 3-0 defeat at MAIDENHEAD TOWN RESERVES.

Maidenhead took the lead on 34 minutes when from a free kick the ball took a deflection and ended up in the back of the net.

Maidenhead were then awarded three penalties in the second half of which two were converted and the third saved by Matt Balcain.

In Division 2, HENLEY EXILES and visitors WOODLEY UNITED DEVELOPMENT shared the spoils in a 2-2 bottom-of-the-table clash.

The home side got off to a good start and created several chances but it was the visitors that took the lead against the run of play from the penalty spot. Henley equalised when Mike Dowling finished off a fine team move.

In the second half the Exiles continued to pile on the pressure and were rewarded with a goal when captain Henry McDonagh scored in the top corner direct from a free kick. Henley Exiles created more chances but were unable to capitalise.

As the game was winding down Henley started giving away needless fouls as they tried hold on for the win. However, Woodley grabbed a late equaliser from a set piece that wasn’t cleared.
