Proudly providing care and support for 55 years

GARDINER’S Homecare has been proudly providing care and support to people in the Caversham and surrounding area since 1968.

The business was established by Dorothy Gardiner, who trained as a nurse before working as a midwife and a district nurse.

She and her husband ran the
business together while raising their family.

In 1984, Dorothy was made an MBE in recognition of her services to nursing and, in particular, her outstanding contribution to fostering good standards of care in the independent sector.

Dorothy stepped down from the day-to-day management of the business in 1998 but Gardiner’s proudly continues to serve the people in our community. The business is now run by Dorothy’s grandson, John-Joe Cottam, along with a highly experienced team.

Gardiner’s Homecare can provide support with personal care, medication, respite, light housework, shopping and much more.

Help is also available when returning home from hospital with urgent round-the-clock care needs or simply some companionship.

During the national crisis in care and the shortage of care workers, we are actively recruiting staff to meet the ongoing demand for new support being requested.

It is important to us to be able to continue providing excellent care to our existing clients and to help new ones.
