CHINESE carmakers know that the way to a potential British customer’s heart just might be through our world-renowned love of pets.
Hence Chinese carmaker Jaecoo’s models will be on display at the upcoming London Pet Show Live 2025 and will feature an innovative “pet mode” climate function.
Having seen more than a few vehicles in car parks this hot summer with their windows half down, the Chinese could be on to something here.
Jaecoo says the “climate function” ensures pets stay comfortable while the car is parked, “maintaining a safe and regulated cabin temperature”.
“Whether running errands or taking a quick break, this feature ensures peace of mind to pet owners,” says Jaecoo.
Paired with an advanced air filtration system that blocks pet hair and keeps the cabin feeling fresh, the Jaecoo models are “designed to offer as much comfort to pets as they do to the human occupants”.
Jaecoo UK is the official car partner of the London Pet Show Live 2025, and will take its pet-friendly vehicles to the event at the National Hall, Olympia, on September 20 and 21. On display at Jaecoo’s stand will be the petrol Jaecoo 5 and all-electric E5, both equipped with the pet mode climate function.
The carmaker says it has 30 additional pet accessories available on the Jaecoo 5 and E5 models.
The carmaker says the cars are “built for the outdoors and designed to meet the needs of modern living”.
The compact SUVs offer a five-seat layout, including two Isofix points, up to 1,180 litres of boot space and more than 35 interior storage spaces.
Priced on the road from £24,505 for the Jaecoo 5 petrol and from £27,505 for the electric E5, each vehicle comes with a seven-year/100,000-mile warranty, with the E5 additionally covered by an eight-year/100,000-mile battery warranty.
If you do go along to London Pet Show Live Jaecoo’s stand is located next to the dog activity arena.
The cars are available in two powertrains — a 1.6-litre turbocharged engine and a fully electric variant — and come equipped as standard with an array of pet-friendly features.
The Jaecoo 5 and E5, alongside the larger Jaecoo 7 SUV, also have additional pet-friendly features, including boarding steps for smaller pets, a pet feeding system, and an antibacterial health device that helps maintain cleanliness inside the cabin.
Pet accessories available at dealerships include portable bowls, foldable rinse kits and even a pet house.
There are additional features — including a portrait-format touchscreen, double-layered silent glass, Sony audio system and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Victor Zhang, Jaecoo’s UK country director, said: “Being part of the London Pet Show Live means that we can celebrate the joy that pets bring to our lives.
“Our vehicles are designed for people who want to share their journey with their pets, and with features like Pet Mode in the E5 and a range of accessories, we’re making it easier for pet owners to enjoy a smooth, comfortable ride while knowing their pets are just as comfortable.” The London Pet Show Live 2025 features a weekend of pet-focused activities, including live animal shows and performances, dog demonstrations and a variety of other events and competitions.
Some of the UK’s leading animal experts will also be on hand with a series of talks and interactive workshops, including Dr Scott Miller (This Morning), Dr Peter Wright (The Yorkshire Vet) and Graeme Hall (“The Dogfather”).
The Jaecoo 5 has already been seen in the UK and was featured in the First Glance paddock of Goodwood Festival of Speed and driven up the famous hill there by an all-female racing team.
In July, Jaecoo officially confirmed pricing and specifications for the all-new Jaecoo 5, which is coming on sale later this summer.
The Jaecoo 5 has a global five-star safety rating, Level 2 autonomous driving and 19 safety functions.
The safety suite available is designed to reduce driver fatigue and enhance focus on the road, using the latest technologies available to support drivers when needed.
