THE Christmas market will be held (subject to the Foot and Mouth Disease restrictions) on Thursday. Schedules have been broadcast and it is hoped that a really good market will be held, at which challenge cups and other prizes will be awarded. Anyone desiring particulars as to the regulations or any other information should apply to the auctioneers, Messrs Simmons and Sons in Bell Street, Henley.

At the open dog show at Abingdon on Thursday last week. Mr W Lester’s eight-month-old Airedale Puppy, “Brightwell Brenda”, was successful in winning three first prizes, two seconds and one third. At the championship show at Bristol on Wednesday it was awarded one third prize and a reserve.
