Student artwork to be showcased at sixth Maidenhead Schools Exhibition

Artwork created by students at secondary schools across the Maidenhead area is set to go on display at a free-to-enter exhibition at Norden Farm.

The Maidenhead Schools Exhibition is back for another year and runs in the venue’s gallery from Wednesday, October 22 to Saturday, November 8.

This is the Altwood Road venue’s sixth Schools Exhibition and will see a range of mediums on display.

All the artwork has been created by students from Furze Platt Senior School, Berkshire College of Agriculture (BCA), Holyport College and Newlands Girls’ School.

The exhibition looks to unite Maidenhead schools and colleges by celebrating the talent and creativity of students across the area.

The work will be judged by a panel featuring Maidenhead MP Josh Reynolds, local visual artist Jho, mixed media textile artists Double Trouble, local digital artist Nicola Metcalfe, chair of Maidenhead Camera Club Bob Simpson, and Mandy Taylor from The Stanley Spencer Gallery in Cookham.

This year’s categories include photography and moving image, textiles, drawing and painting, mixed-media and digital art and design.

The winners’ prizes have been donated by Double Trouble, Daler-Rowney, and Feathers and Fur Falconry Centre.

Kayleigh Robinson, Norden Farm’s education manager, said: “Each year the exhibition gets bigger and better.

“We are lucky to have such talented young people in Maidenhead.

"I'm always amazed by the incredible art pieces we get to display here at Norden Farm.”

The exhibition is part of Farm Out, the flagship Norden Farm Arts Programme for schools, which has been funded by the Spoore, Merry and Rixman Foundation.
