Sacred Heart triumph

HENLEY’S Sacred Heart School have run out winners of this year’s Oxfordshire Primary School Cross Country Championships.

On a frosty morning at Maiden Erlegh Chiltern Edge last Saturday , around 250 runners from more than 21 schools competed in the final races of the competition.

Sacred Heart took the title with 48 points with Trinity second on 44 and Moulsford third on 40.

The results of the races were as follows:

Year 1: Boys’ — 1 Joshua Mattingley, Shiplake; 2 Hugo Joules, Sacred Heart; 3 Isaac Cottle, Sonning Common. Girls’ — 1 Eva Worsefold, Kidmore End; 2 Sienna Laykin, Nettlebed; 2 Bethan Palmer, Shiplake.

Year 2: Boys’ — 1 Joey Quinn, Oratory; 2 Jack Siveyer, Whitchurch; 3 Thomas Jeffrey, Kidmore End. Girls’ — 1 Phoebe Soles, Nettlebed; 2 Sophie Leach, Headington; 3 Alice O’Brien, Trinity.

Year 3: Boys’ — 1 Joseph Conway, Nettlebed; 2 Teddy Holland, Kidmore End; 3 Hughie Moorcroft, Oratory. Girls’ — 1 Isabelle Bromley, Trinity; 2 Ariana Davis, Headington; 3 Jesca Storey, Headington.

Year 4: Boys’ — 1 Will Nicholson, Woodcote; 2 Henry Wright, Goring; 3 Rafe Coleman, Moulsford. Girls’ — 1 Alice Mumme-Young, Headington; 2 Martha Sudbury, Woodcote; 3 Teddy Molner, Rupert House.

Year 5: Boys’ — 1 Ambrose Paviour, Kidmore End; 2 Oliver Buff, Moulsford; 3 Barney Humphries, Moulsford. Girls’ — 1 Jemima Watson, Rupert House; 2 Eloise Woulters, Rupert House; 3 Kitty Mumme-Young, Headington.

Year 6: Boys’ — 1 Sam James, Moulsford; 2 Thomas Leppard, St Mary’s; 3 Theo Topping, Moulsford. Girls’ — 1 Willow Chamberlain, St Mary’s; 2 mily Palmer, Shiplake; 3 Rosie Potter, Headington.
