Hidden Henley

WHEN I first started this feature in January 2000 the roundabout in Reading Road, Henley, had an installation of a blue boat with the name Henley in Bloom.

More recently we have enjoyed a 10ft tall female of galvanised steel wire and aluminium by Oxfordshire sculptor Rachael Ducker and sponsored for many years by this newspaper.

Not only does it hint at a healthy lifestyle but showcases an example of art. The plants have grown considerably and the raised area has taken on a different look, particularly when lit by the low early morning sun and the curious sculpture takes on a new life.
