THE organisers of a fireworks display in Henley that was cancelled at the last minute have apologised. Thousands of people were left disappointed when the show at Swiss Farm, off Marlow Road, didn’t happen due to a technical hitch. The crowd waited 45 minutes for the display to start on Saturday evening before being told it was being called off.

Three Henley families have offered to take Syrian refugees into their homes. The news was revealed by town councillor Stefan Gawrysiak as he proposed that the town council could help them with additional expenses, such as power bills, train and bus fares and mileage. Cllr Gawrysiak said all three had “fairly large” properties and were willing to offer space for as long as needed.
