Moses meets his match

SONNING Common and Peppard A kept their slim Reading and District League Division 1 title chances alive after beating Kingfisher B 6-4 last week. However, Daniel Moses lost his 100 per cent record after being beaten by Prayrit Ahluwalia.

The C team remain perilously close to the drop zone after they lost 9-1 to Kingfisher C while the B team remain in with a fighting chance despite a 7-3 loss at Sonning Sports A, Tom Astle playing well against the top rated David Croucher before eventually losing 10-12, 11-8, 12-10, 10-12, 7-11. The D team are all but down following a heavy 10-0 defeat at Tidmarsh A.

In Division 3 Anthony Reeve starred as the E team won 6-4 against Sonning Sports B, while the F team suffered a 7-3 loss to promotion rivals Springfield C in Division 4 leaving them a point behind with just three matches remaining. Graeme Streets, Oliver Bonser and Gerry Bacon all managed singles.

The G team also lost 7-3 in their match against Kingfisher K, David Riddle and John Evans winning one apiece, plus the doubles set.
