SONNING Common and Peppard C were defeated by a strong Springfield A side in Division 2 of the Reading and District League last week.

Jim Warren and Jeremy Willis both battled hard for the villagers who were unfortunate to lose two of their matches in fifth-game deciders.

Willis also lost 11-4, 12-14, 8-11, 12-10, 8-11 to Stephen Leggett while Warren missed out 11-8, 11-13, 14-12, 5-11, 8-11 to Mat Hickman.
