WOODCOTE Development were below par against their opponents in the first game in the group stages of the North Berks Charity Shield last Saturday.

Drayton dominated throughout but, in a game of few clear-cut chances, they did not take the lead until
10 minutes before half-time. The visitors increased their lead five minutes into the second half.

The Woodcote defence fought a good rearguard action for much of the game with young defenders Will Gordon and Jack Wilkinson outstanding. Iestyn Proctor gave a battling performance in midfield and Zak Fanstone up front posed problems to the Drayton defence.
