Kennylands sweeps board at county championships

YOUNG gymnasts from Kennylands’ development, club and mini squads travelled to Abingdon Gymnastics Club on Sunday to compete at the Oxfordshire County Grades Championships.

The club had a large presence with the most gymnasts competing in the county and came away with fantastic results. Kennylands swept the podium while every one of its gymnasts passed their grade.

Under eights — Orya Sarilan Fraifeld: three bronze, one silver; Sarah Shaikh: two silver, two gold; Jessica Davidson: four silvers; Harper King: two bronze, two silver; Ivy Di Rosa: three bronze, one silver; Lottie Banks: three silver, one bronze; Lillie-Mae Phillips: two bronze, 1 silver, one gold; Chloe Evans: one bronze, three silver.

Over eights: Preparation 1 — Amy Evans: 3rd on beam, 3rd on floor and 3rd overall. Bailey Blyth performed her first five-piece competition and put out stunning routines and achieved a Working Above in her grade.

Preparation 3 — Arabella Cooper: 3rd on bars, 1st on floor, 1st on R&C, 2nd overall; Erum Ullah: 2nd on floor, 5th overall.

Development 2 — Melia Drummond: 3rd on R&C, 3rd on vault, 3rd on bars, 3rd on beam, 2nd on floor and awarded overall champion; Alexa Hughes: 2nd on R&C, 2nd on bars, 1st on floor, 2nd overall; Darcy Rawson: 1st on bars, 2nd on beam, 2nd on floor, 3rd overall.

Development 3 — Sienna Cotton: 2nd on vault, 3rd on bars, 3rd on floor, 5th overall; Hollie Mackin: 3rd on vault, 2nd on bars, 1st on beam, 1st on floor, 2nd on R&C, 2nd overall; Natalia Wojciechowska: 1st on bars, 2nd on beam, 2nd on floor, 1st on R&C & awarded overall champion.

Development 4 — Jess Jones: 1st on bars, 2nd on beam, 2nd on floor, 2nd on vault, 2nd on R&C, 2nd overall; Orla Hughes: 2nd on bars, 1st on beam, 1st on floor, 1st on vault, 1st on R&C & awarded overall champion.
