Spot on Wigmore helps villagers move top of table

WARGRAVE moved to the top of the Premier Division table last Saturday after running out 4-0 winners away at AFC WINKFIELD.

The visitors started brightly and were awarded an early penalty when Sam Wild was fouled by the Winkfield goalkeeper. Captain Joe Wigmore stepped up to convert. Wild won a second penalty which was also converted by Wigmore.

Winkfield had a man sent off later in the first half before Wild made it 3-0 before the break.

Wargrave pushed for more but were wasteful in front of goal before Callum Finley headed home to make it 4-0.

In Division 2, HENLEY EXILES went down to a 4-0 defeat against AFC CHARVIL.

The Exiles got off to a good start and created some good opportunities but were unable to capitalise. This proved costly as Charvil netted twice before the interval.

The second half was a similar story with Henley playing some good football but still snatching at chances in front of goal. The visitors added two more goals to wrap up the scoring.

In Division 4, Benjamin Morgan netted a hat-trick to help ROTHERFIELD UNITED DEVELOPMENT secure all three points from their 6-2 win at MARLOW UNITED RESERVES.

Morgan and Lucas Pestana both bagged two goals each in the first half while Rhys Roberts also got his name on the scoresheet as Rotherfield led 5-0 at half-time.

In the second half Marlow pulled two goals back before Pestana wrapped up the scoring by completing his hat-trick on 80 minutes.
