TOBY Nowell netted a hat-trick to help Premier Division side WOODCOTE ease into the next round of the cup with a convincing 7-2 win at Division 1 WRAYSBURY last Saturday.
The visitors fell a goal behind before two quick goals midway through the first half scored by leading scorers, Sam Primmer and Nowell gave Woodcote the lead at half-time.
In the second half the visitors found their best form. Joe Parry and Henry Leadbetter-Hart added goals before Wraysbury pulled one back. Mark Spruyt made it 5-2 and Nowell added two more to complete his hat-trick.
ROTHERFIELD UNITED also secured their place in the next round of the competition after beating FINCHAMPSTEAD RESERVES 4-0 at Bishopswood. Brett Gardner and William Beville put the hosts 2-0 ahead in the first half. Beville added his second of the match in the second half before Warren Gardner wrapped up the scoring 10 minutes from time.
HENLEY TOWN were knocked out of the competition after going down 3-0 at YATELEY UNITED A.
Henley had to make a goalkeeper change before kick-off when Ben Palmer was passed unfit to start with Dan York deputising. Town started with some good passing play and were unlucky not to take the lead when a Harry Taylor shot went close but it was the hosts that opened the scoring on
12 minutes when a Ben Chalke corner went directly in past York. The visitors had numerous chances to equalise before half-time with Taylor firing a free kick over, Tommy Fosh with a couple of efforts and Luke Mulvaney with a shot that rebounded off the crossbar.
The second half saw chances for both sides but Henley’s performance level dropped and they were made to pay in the 73rd minute when their attack broke down and a long ball caught out the defence allowing Joe Tagg to race clear and side foot home a second from
15 yards.
With Town attempting to get back into the game Yateley were awarded a penalty on
81 minutes that was neatly taken by Rhys Kirkby-Cox to seal the win.
